Why did you choose to go to Genova, Italy?

I choose Genova considering what I wanted to do in my internship and the proximity to my native language. I knew it was beautiful and I am not disappointed.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship last six months. I receive 400€/month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Genova?

It's vital. Theres always something happening.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Genova to other students?

Yes, definitely.

What is the food like?

Fantastic... From the bread Focatia to all the cheeses. Good souces and drinks too.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Genova?

No. They have 2 websites that help you finding a place to stay. One is http://www.subito.it and the other http://www.Babeka.it.

How much does it cost to live in Genova?

The costs are not very high. The room costs between 200 and 300€.

And with more 100€ you can buy food.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is not difficult if you come from countries like Portugal or Spain. I recommend an Italian course before coming because in the city most people only speak Italian.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Genova from your city?

The most economical way to go and come to Genova is from Milan. Genova has an aeroport but the tickets are not that cheap. So I recommend plane to Milan and then train to Genova.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Genova?

Genova has all these small streets named Vicolas in every one can something be happening. Piazza de Ferrary and piazza Dante are very famous and have a lot of people.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Genova?

I don't eat out much but I heard good things about Tratoria il Cadraio and the Mexican restauran Vera Cruz.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There is a lot of palazzi to see. You must not lose via Garibaldi e via Balbi. There are a lot of churches and galleries to see.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Genova in the future?

Plan your trip before coming. Take care of your documents.
