Why did you choose to go to Genoa, Italy?

To improve my language, learn about the culture directly from the natives and because it's not as expensive as other European countries.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Just enough to get the rent paid!

What is the student lifestyle like in Genoa?

Genova is amazing, yet is a very small city, so after a few weeks you'll already have visited most of its main parts, but it's also great to go to many other cities like Milan or Torino, and not too far away from the more centric cities like Florence and Rome.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Genoa to other students?

It's quite charming overall even though it's not that big of a city, is quite charming and the faculties are good enough.

What is the food like?

As one expects from any Italian city, food is simply amazing and not that expensive.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Genoa?

It's not difficult to find accommodation, jut try to check 2 or 3 rooms one you're in the city instead of booking one before.

How much does it cost to live in Genoa?

Around 400 euros a month only rent and food with some extra things.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Language is rather easy to understand, besides the University offers courses of basic and advanced levels.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Genoa from your city?

In my case, it could only be by plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Genoa?

Anything near Piazza de Ferrari is good, also Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza delle Lepre.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Genoa?

Nearby Principe station there are some good pizzerias as most tourists arrive there, yet most of the city has good places.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Villa del principe, Piazza de Ferrari, Casa di Cristoforo Colombo, Porto Antico, Strada Nuova...

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Genoa in the future?

Don't stay in your room more than 6 hours!
