Why did you choose to go to Genoa, Italy?
To learn a new language and find out more about Italian culture.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I had a 5 month scholarship, with a total of 1800€ given by my University.
What is the student lifestyle like in Genoa?
I think there's a lot of "partying". I wish there could be more interaction between students through other activities.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Genoa to other students?
YES!
What is the food like?
Very good. Many typical food to experience!
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Genoa?
No, I was helped by ARSSU.
How much does it cost to live in Genoa?
I would say around 600€/month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
It was a bit difficult in the beginning, but after starting italian classes (offered by the University of Genova) everything became clear.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Genoa from your city?
By plane, Nantes-Milano.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Genoa?
Lots of bars to choose in the city centre.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Genoa?
Pisacane!
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
I enjoyed Mura de Forti and the small villages near Genova.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Genoa in the future?
Be careful with the people you get to know there. Also, don't go alone at night in the city centre (especially if you're a girl). Have a lot of patience when dealing with the public offices.
