Saint Patrick

Yesterday, 17th March, it was celebrated Saint Patrick's day. In this day, Irish people remember Saint Patrick in the anniversary of his death. He is patron saint of Ireland because he was working as a Roman missionary in this country on the second half of the V Century. The legend says the Saint Patrick banished snakes from Ireland. In Saint Patrick's day everybody wears green clothes, and shamrocks are everywhere as it seen a symbol of this day. It is said that Saint Patrick used the three leaves of shamrocks in order to teach Irish the Christian doctrine of the Holy Trinity. As I am studying in Galway, I also went to the city centre to celebrate this day. I wore a green jumper, a hairpin with a shamrock, and I got painted in one of my cheeks another shamrock. At noon I attended to a parade. And I drunk Guinness, which was only served after half past twelve!

In short, I enjoyed a lot the day. I encourage you, if you have the chance, to celebrate Saint Patrick's day in Ireland, it is unforgettable!
