What is it like to live in Freiberg? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Is a perfect city to study with a prestigious University and nice place to live. In the middle of Dresden, Liepzig and Chemnitz and not far from Berlin. Modern city with ancient story and nice historical buildings. Multicultural nowadays because of the university can offer a good place for study with an active University life as a quite and intersting place to live.

What is the student lifestyle like in Freiberg?

University is very active and offers a good environment to study and to have interesting meetings.

How much does it cost to live in Freiberg?

To live in Freiberg can cost about 250-350 euro per month and there are economic shops for all the pockets.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Freiberg? Is there any advice you can give?

The students rooms are always mostly full and with 2/3 or 4 people together. All around the UNI there is a good offer for accomodation.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is very various: except the traditional german kitchen you can find Turkish, Italian, Greek and some more particulars places.

What places would you recommend visiting in Freiberg?

In Frieberg there is a Mineralogy museum one of the biggest in germany and also very many other little and interesting museum, as the minery museum or the 7 churches of the city.

Is it good to eat out in Freiberg? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Food is good in the city as also in all the other little villages near by. There is a restaurant specialized in Potatoes very famous and very yummy - Kartofel Haus

Is the nightlife good in Freiberg? Where is good to go?

The night you can spend in a street: Im Meissenrgasse there are all the pubs and clubs you are looking for.

What advice would you give future students heading to Freiberg?

Buy a bicicle and enjoy the history and the nature of the place. You are lucky if you come here while there is the organisation of the germans and the international environment all in one!
