Experience in University College Falmouth, United Kingdom by Callum
Generally, what is University College Falmouth like?
Falmouth University is an arts university based in Cornwall. It's incredible surroundings, including beautiful beaches allow artists and photographers to be constantly inspired to produce engaging and interesting content. As a creative, I believe it's one of the best.
What are the facilities like?
The facilities, especially the institute of photography where I was based is amazing and is what drew me to want to apply to Falmouth. Being able to use any photographic equipment, studios and dark room is a photographer's dream. Also, with friends on other courses I know they felt their specific study places were just as good.
What are the tutors like?
The tutors are knowledgeable and are always available to talk about any issues or queries you may have. In my instance, my particular tutor suggested Erasmus to me which is something now I very much appreciate after being in Berlin for 5 months.
Are the lessons easy in University College Falmouth?
The modules vary with some being harder than others but in general I always felt challenged which I think is essential when learning.
Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?
The university has many different societies that are always putting on different kinds of events. There are always student based events on the weekends in Falmouth town, ranging from music to socials. My course in particular would always organise activities to raise money for our final year exhibitions.
Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?
Yes, the tutors at Falmouth have had many years experience and that is reflected in our lectures.
Are there any stories you can share?
There are many. But to be quick, Falmouth isn't just falmouth. You are in Cornwall. The most beautiful part of the UK, therefore visiting these other places is what makes it the perfect university experience.
