Business at European University Viadrina of Frankfurt, Germany
Apart from the language center, I don't like this system.
First, we have 2 semesters: winter and summer. The problem comes when each semester is divided in 2 blocks, and then, you have subjects imparted in first block, other in second block or even in both blocks. If you are learning a language is obligatory to take another subjects too, and many subjects are imparted at the same time, so you have to choose your courses considering the schedule. I need to mention that the university doesn't offer enough timetable alternatives.
Moreover, there are very bad teachers who don't take the practical lessons seriously. For example, if you take Labor Economics, which is really difficult, you will probably need a book with exercises and their solutions (available in the library) because teachers don't know how to manage this kind of lessons. As these practical (and usual) lessons won't be profitable, you will need to study by yourself and you won't have time to spare.
However, the language center with their teachers, the tandem possibilities, the student organizations and the services in the university are really nice. In addition, the international department workers are very kind.
