Why did you choose to go to Dusseldorf, Germany?

I did not really choose at first. A company proposed me an internship in Düsseldorf and I decided to try the experience and I don't regret it!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I cannot help you with this point because I didn't study there. If I remember well I paid 400 euros my rent. I think 800 euros per month is very enough. Indeed, supermarket are very cheep in Germany and in Düsseldorf there are very cool happy hours. You can go out and have fun.

What is the student lifestyle like in Dusseldorf?

It is pretty cool! Düsseldorf is a big student city! There a lot of international students and lot of French people (like every big cities in Germany). There are lot of bars where you can go and have fun. The prices are very cheap! You can also have some barbecue, drink next to the main river. People from Düsseldorf are very nice to you! It is an international city. I really think that study in Düsseldorf could be an amazing experience. I know some people who even decided to finish their studies there and not come back to France.

Would you recommend the city of Dusseldorf to other students?

I will totally recommend! Düsseldorf is a big city next to Cologne. Also you are only 2h by train to Amsterdam! The city is wonderful, bars are cool and there are students everywhere!

I met people from Brazil, South Africa, Australia, Italia... I am sure you will have lot of fun there!

What is the food like?

You can find everything: Chinese, Japanese, Lebanese, Turkish... Mainly the speciality is like in all other cities in Germany: potatoes, niederschnintzel, sausages...

Supermarket are really cheep so you can try all German foods!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Dusseldorf?

No, I found it on the Internet.

How much does it cost to live in Dusseldorf?

Like I said before around 800 euros/month (rent, food, drinks... ). The only thing which is very expensive is the subway: around 5 euros a subway ticket....

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available in the University?

I don't know about languages courses in University but I am sure you can have some courses. Also there are lot of students who propose that you teach them your languages and they will teach you German.

My level in German is really bad... Because everybody speaks English it doesn't help but you can totally learn German there!

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Dusseldorf from your city?

I took the train from Strasbourg but Ryanair and Easy Jet also go there!

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Dusseldorf?

I don't remember the name but in the center you have a big street with lot of bars (which is the biggest street in Europe that has so many bars at the same place).

Also in the old town it's very quiet with lot of bars and restaurants.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Dusseldorf?

I don't really remember but there are very nice restaurants!

Is there any other advice that you could give to future students who are going to Dusseldorf?

Enjoy the city! It's amazing !
