Motorbike is the primary mode of transportation and where vehicles literally slows down, if not stop when people cross the road.

What is the student lifestyle like in Dumaguete City?

Dynamic, enriching, rewarding. Shops, restaurants, banks, schools are literally within 50meters - 1kilometer radius from each other. The Boulevard is within reach.

How much does it cost to live in Dumaguete City?

For a student, it's about 8,000 Php. It includes dorm/single bed accommodation, food, allowance, transportation. It's cheap even for couples and families.

No. There are many hostels, inns, and pension houses in the city. Make bookings for long stay or peak seasons like festivals, holidays.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Everything is sumptuous. My favorites are the "tempura" you can find along Boulevard and the desserts from Sans Rival. Scooby's spaghetti is top notch.

What places would you recommend visiting in Dumaguete City?

Silliman University, Boulevard, and Sans Rival. Beaches are just on the outskirts of the city. Ride a motorbike or just take a small cab or tricycle going there.

Is it good to eat out in Dumaguete City? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes. Sans Rival for dessert, Manang Siony's for barbecue, and Scooby's for that original taste of the first local fast food in the city.

Study well and get immersed in the intellectual vibe that is compelling as it is exciting while being spruced up with culture and arts.
