Our client, an app localization and translation start-up in Cardiff, is currently looking to recruit an intern to help the IT Department for their office in Cardiff.

About the Company
The company is an app localization and translation company dedicated to both technology and linguistics. They work with some of the world’s top app and game developers to help translate their apps into different languages. A small company based in a great little office in the very center of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. As they are not a large company, all roles at the company are quite flexible, with everyone working on a variety of different tasks.

  • Working Hours: 30-35 hours/week

Role Overview:
The intern will be required to carry out the following duties as part of their role:

  • Help develop an internal translator database
  • Work on an existing online dictionary project (currently in Ruby)
  • Opportunity to take part in online courses to improve their PHP or Ruby skills
  • Curate social engagement content and tools
  • Actively engage in the furthering of the company’s competitiveness in the market
  • Assist the Director of Training with content for the company’s training courses

Work tasks will be decided as a team at the start of each week. As there are no other developers in the company, the Intern will be given time each week to upskill using online courses and trainings, which the company will pay for.

Knowledge, skills and competences to be acquired by the end of the traineeship:
By the end of the internship, the intern will have acquired knowledge and experience in the following:

  • Improving PHP/Ruby/SQL/JS/HTML/CSS skills
  • Working in a team
  • Developing business activities
  • Managing the company’s social engagement
  • Writing code for business purposes

Monitoring & Evaluation plan:
Monitoring and Evaluation will be directly taken by Supervisors.

The company offers:
Small salary: 600 Pounds/Month

Requirements:

  • PHP or Ruby experience (all programming languages considered)
  • A team worker
  • Interested in the latest tech
  • Knowledge of any other foreign language
  • Good knowledge of how Social Media works
  • Friendly and willing to learn
  • Eligible to work in the country of destination
  • Highly advisable to go under Erasmus Plus Programme
