Experience in Dornbirn, Austria by Peter
What is it like to live in Dornbirn? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
You live near the alps and you can see them everyday. The city is not that big, but it has a nice city centre. It is great in the summer to sit outside and enjoy your life. Otherwise you are near the lake of Constance, the biggest lake in the three countries Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
What is the student lifestyle like in Dornbirn?
The university is very small, so you get fast in contact with other students and you also have a very personal connection with the lecturers.
Also the university organizes a lot of different activities.
How much does it cost to live in Dornbirn?
A room is about 300-400 euros and all and all it is quite expensive to live there.

No, absolutely not. On the webside of the university you can find a posssibility to find accomodation (it is called Wohnungsbörse).
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The food is very special.
What places would you recommend visiting in Dornbirn?
The Karren, that is a mountain directly in Dornbirn which has a beautiful view. And of course the lake of Constance is always a nice possibility to do a trip
Is it good to eat out in Dornbirn? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes, absolutely. Since I lived in Dornbirn (two years ago), I never had the experience of bad food in the restaurants.
Good restaurants are the pizzeria next to the University and there are a lot of good restaurants in the centre of Dornbirn.
Is the nightlife good in Dornbirn? Where is good to go?
The nightlife is alright but it is not that special. But hotspots of Dornbirn are the discos: Conrad Sohm, Polar TV and the bar Mr. Johns. But there are also nice discos in Bregenz, that is close to Dornbirn, called A14 and Nachtschicht
