Firstly i will mention that the next place i am writing this post about is in the city of Elazig , Turkey , not Diyarbakir . It is essential with each story i post to mention this , some cities are hard to find in the list .
Special place
Since i am currently doing my Erasmus internship in the city of Elazig , Turkey , and as i was mentioning in my previous posts , there are not so many places to go and things to do here . Is either you go in the city center or you spend your time in the shopping center , which of course is my main option .
So the one and only shopping center in Elazig is called Park 23 , is located around 1 km or more from the Firat University Campus , is not a big mall but is better than just stroll around the center i guess.
There is one particularly place i always go when i want to take a bite outside . As i say is my favorite restaurant place in Elazig , where i regularly go and order same type of dish all the time , funny right ?!
Enough with the intro , the restaurant is named Buket Lahmacun and is at the top floor of the Park 23 Mall . Is not a big place but it has a nice terrace to it . And of course there is also a sitting area shared next to Burger King and Popeye's . I always prefer to sit outside on the terrace of course.
The main entrance to the restaurant , yes indeed it looks like a fast food place but there is actually an entry on the right side , straight ahead the juice fridge.
Menu and dishes
Last time i went it was actually this Sunday afternoon and i said to my boyfriend Muhammet if we go i need to write about it , just because they have amazing dishes and i swear the chicken here is cooked such in a great way that i never tasted somewhere else .
Said and done i was in the mall Sunday , first stop Buket Lahmacun . Lahmacun just for everybody to understand is a type of Turkish food made from a tiny slim pizza bread with beef pieces on top , and mix spices and vegetables . I am not a huge fan of this because i don't like or eat beef , but sometimes i can make an exception if i put a lot of salad on top so i don't have to taste the beef .
Inside the staff and waiters are always young boys and girls , they are friendly and one thing about this place that you never need to wait to much for food .
The menu is basically simple one , as the name of the place is called Buket Lahmacun is normal that is a lahmacun speciality , but there is as well other options for people like me .

Soups as well as desserts .
Prices are indeed so low if i am thinking how good the food is .
As i said in the beginning i always order same dish , why ? because is so amazing , i cannot even describe the words to it , the chicken is cooked in such a manner which really makes the best chicken dish in the city .
But before i tell you about my favorite dish i want to add that in every place you go to eat in Turkey they always bring you an aperitif before you order , and yes it's from the house, meaning is free!
In Romania we have a dish is called zacusca which we always make and after we keep in the storage all winter . Is made from tomatoes , bell pepper , onions and eggplant . Well in Turkey a sort of this dish is usually served as an aperitif before food . And in Buket Lahmacun it is just unbelievable amazing .
The zacusca lookalike i just told you is the reddish one and parsley with lemon and salad is a must i Turkish cuisine . Really is so hard for me to understand two things in this cuisine , related to salad . One is they always use lemon on the top of salads which i completely hate , they mess up the taste .
And second besides the lemon they add in the salads also mint , which is terrible , sorry all the Turkish cuisine lovers out there!
Also in the picture is Pide , a Turkish traditional dish , which i will tell you more on my Turkish Recipes blog posts, keep tune in !
Besides the one in the pictures you also get as an aperitif salad and onions with a special purple spice with gives them a sweet taste , so weird!
Of course until my food comes i am already so full from all the aperitifs .
Now about my special dish which i spoke so much, is called tavuk sis , in translation tavuk means chicken and sis is basically chicken on a stick , turkish way .
The plate comes along with a side dish of bulgur which by the way you can find it in my blog posts of how to make it and salad plus the traditional turkish bread . Now the highlight of this dish is for sure the grilled green pepper.
Trust me guys this dish is beyond words , i am that type of person who jumps right away and digs into their food like a poor African children , sorry no offense to none .
The price of this dish is 12 tl ( Turkish lira) which is about 3 euros . So worth it! I always drink it with Coke zero .
Once in Elazig stop by this amazing place and if you are a chicken lover this dish with not fail your senses .
