Experience in Dijon, France by Justine
What is it like to live in Dijon? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
It's cool! You've got a lot to do downtown and there are a lot of interesting things to see in the area as well.
How much does it cost to live in Dijon?
Rent can be quite high for a small flat. I would say that's the biggest disadvantage.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Dijon? Is there any advice you can give?
No, actually the offer is quite diversified.
What is the food like? What are your favorite dishes?
Well, don't mean to sound chauvinistic but Dijon is located in France, in a region well-known for its food and wine, so yes, food is more than tasty and you can eat in several good restaurants. There is a choice! I strongly recommend "L'édito" located in place Darcy, and "L'émile brochettes" located in place Emile Zola (a play on the word "les 1000 brochettes" which means "thousands of kebabs" if my translation is good).
What places would you recommend visiting in Dijon?
The historical town center, the Kir lake...
Is it good to eat out in Dijon? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Refer to "What is the food like? ".
Is the nightlife good in Dijon? Where is good to go?
Yes, you'll find many pubs in Street Barbisey and around la place de la République ("La Jamaïque" is very cool but you need to be dressed up, careful! ). There are also nightclubs like "Le Chat Noir", "le Baltazar", "La Salsa Pelpa", "Le Carré", "La Centrale"...
