Land of Springs: Pamukkale
Pamukkale is located in the southwestern of Denizli city, 600 km from Istanbul. Pamukkale's warm springs which appear in the form of white stripes, are among the country's most famous tourist attractions. These limestone terraces were formed over millions of years, but have been subjected to human misfortune in earlier periods, which has lost its bright white luster.
But the Turkish authorities have taken some measures to preserve the Pamukkale springs which in Turkish means "cotton castle", such as the demolition of hotels around the area and the banning of showers in these warm springs, which restored some of its former splendor.
