What is it like to live in Dendermonde? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Dendermonde is more like a 'city town'. It's small compared to Ghent, but really big compared to towns here in Flanders. I loved to live in Dendermonde, it was really peaceful, even though it is quite busy.

What is the student lifestyle like in Dendermonde?

There are no universities in Dendermonde, so there isn't really a 'student lifestyle'. Around the station there are a lot of pubs, where students go out and have a drink. It's a really nice atmosphere.

How much does it cost to live in Dendermonde?

The prices are okay, not high not low!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Dendermonde? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not that difficult, there are a lot of appartments that are available for renting.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is nice! There are some 'frituren' to get fries, there is also a McDo and Pizzahut. There are also plenty of restaurants that serve delicious food.

What places would you recommend visiting in Dendermonde?

The centre with the townhall, the nature, ...

Is it good to eat out in Dendermonde? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yeah! I like to go to 'Gasthof Cardis', where you can a lot of delicous food for a really decent price.

Is the nightlife good in Dendermonde? Where is good to go?

The nightlife is not that huge as in other big cities. But to go out, you can go to the 'Fabriek', which is a big club. At the station there are also a lot of places to have a drink.

What advice would you give future students heading to Dendermonde?

Enjoy your time in Dendermonde, but this city has a train station, so I would recommend also visiting bigger cities!
