What is it like to live in Curitiba? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Curitiba is a city known for the quality of its public transportation and for being an eco-friendly city in Brazil. There is here a lot of European influence in the culture, the architecture and the gastronomy because of the immigrants who came to Brazil in the 1800's.

What is the student lifestyle like in Curitiba?

There is a lot of good universities in Curitiba and for students there are good options when it comes to pubs, bars, clubs both LGBTQ+ and for straight people. Everybody is welcome and people in Curitiba are very likeble!

How much does it cost to live in Curitiba?

It's cheaper compared to Europe, and very regular for Brazil. Real state is okay, food can be expansive depending on the grocery you go, but in general there is good life quality.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Curitiba? Is there any advice you can give?

Look at the real state websites and there you will find a lot of options.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I eat vegetarian and it's super easy to find veg options.

What places would you recommend visiting in Curitiba?

Museu Oscar Niemeyer, Jardim Botânico, Parque Barigui, Parque Tanguá, Bosque do Papa.

Is it good to eat out in Curitiba? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I like "Bar do Alemão", very traditional German pub in the downtown, I also like Txapela Bar and La Santa, where you can eat reall good mexican good. The neighbourhood "Santa Felicidade" is known by the italian culture, so it's a good place to find italian and pasta restaurants.

Is the nightlife good in Curitiba? Where is good to go?

I like James, VU, all the street Vicente Machado and also Trajano, where you can find a lot of different bars and karaokes.

What advice would you give future students heading to Curitiba?

Be careful and have a good buddy to take you to the right place!
