The introduction

Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine!

In this article I want to tell you about this exhibition in Copenhagen, which I visited during my stay there and it’s a very interesting place if you love insects and things like that, if you want to know the truth.

Well, technically, I wasn’t going to visit this place, because I’m not much of the insects fan, however, it was included in my Copenhagen Card and I could visit it free of charge, and, besides, it was a pretty good idea to see the collections there. Also, it was just beside the Geological museum of Copenhagen, which I was visiting and I just walked into this museum, too.

So that, this exhibition was called the Microsculpture and it was the insect portraits of Levon Biss, and it was pretty interesting, if you want to know the truth.

About the exhibition

Well, Levon Biss is the author of those portraits of those insects. He is a British photographer. He was born in London and it has been many years, since he works as a photographer and has many exhibitions. He specializes in sport, portraiture and insects. Since 1998 he has been shooting for international brands like Adidas, OMEGA, Puma, etc.

Levon Biss’s vision is pretty unique and he doesn’t only have those insect portraits, but he also has people and other things photographed, which seem to be pretty interesting, too.

The insects, however, are magnified by the lens and they seem to be very beautiful and colourful, if you want to know the truth, and that’s why it becomes pretty interesting to see those insects in the exhibition there in Geological museum.

The Microscuplture exhibition will be held from the 6-th of February until the 25-th of November, 2018, so that if you want to see any of those things, you can visit the Geological museum of Copenhagen and see the exhibition there.

Besides the pictures of the insects, you will be able to see the actual insects, made like exhibits, and they are put before the glass thing and you can look at them without any disturbances and they are really interesting to see them from up close.

You should know, that the Microsculpture has been listed in Smithsonian’s top ten photography books of 2017 and the exhibition is going to be exhibited in Berlin and USA and Switzerland, too, this year, so that, it is a very good year for the author, I guess.

Well, the thing is, that some people don’t know, that this kind of exhibition exists and they don’t usually go there because of that. I didn’t know anything about that until I just went to the Geologisk museum of Copenhagen, if you want to know the truth, and, at first, I thought, that it was the part of the Zoological museum of Copenhagen, however, that Zoological museum of Copenhagen is not located nearby the Geological museum and then I thought, that there was something else here and as it turned out, it was an exhibition and it was not related anyhow to the Zoological museum of Copenhagen. It was just in the entrance of the Geological museum of Copenhagen and that’s why I saw the exhibition, I guess, and if it was somewhere else, then I wouldn’t even have any idea of the exhibition, I must say. So that, everyone should be pretty careful about the exhibitions and they should always check the web pages and get to know news about the exhibitions in their cities or wherever they want to visit those places, because usually they don’t say that on television or on radios, which most people don’t listen to, and they don’t even publish it on the newspapers, so that the only thing left is the Internet, I guess, and you should check those museum web pages for the news about the exhibitions and stuff like that.

Anyways, if you are people of insectsand you are interested in them or if you just love photography and you want to see those amazing pictures of insects took by Levon Biss, then you should go to the Geological museum of Copenhagen and see the exhibition yourself!
