You may not know that this city is where the first bird and the first flower on earth were found. It may not be as famous as Beijing but it has a longer history. There are two pagodas(South and North) which are over 1500 years old and you can get the real fossils at very good prices there.

What is the student lifestyle like in Chaoyang?

There are basically no foreigners there and this year i took a friend of mine fron Girona there and he felt like as popular as David Beckham. People are very nice and there are many entertainments such as hot spring, Karaoke, bars and restaurants.

How much does it cost to live in Chaoyang?

It maybe one of the cheapest city in China. With 150 euros you can pay your rent and food for a month.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Chaoyang? Is there any advice you can give?

Very easy and with good price.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Typical food of northern China. normally we order many dishes since they are not expensive. You can get chicken, beef, shrimp, everything.

What places would you recommend visiting in Chaoyang?

The Phoenix Mountain, the two pagodas, the fossil park, Red Mountain Heritage park etc.

Is the nightlife good in Chaoyang? Where is good to go?

Yes. Close to the DALING River, you can get real chinese style BBQ and senior people are dancing along the river. The bridges at night and the fountain are amazing.

What advice would you give future students heading to Chaoyang?

If the budget allows, go there and see what China really looks like. (you will be surprised)
