Chepstow

Chepstow is a town found in the county of Monmouthshire, near the English border. It consists of 12, 000 inhabitants where only 10% of its population consider Welsh their first language.

It's easy to reach Cardiff by using the bus or train. You can get there in an hour.

The main attraction of this Welsh town is its castle, the oldest castle made of rock in the whole of the United Kingdom. It's construction began in the 10th century.

As the castle is right in the middle of the town, from it you can see the typical structure of a Welsh town, full of unusually coloured houses.

The town is situated right along side the river Wye, the third largest river in the United Kingdom.

In Chepstow there is also an important horse racing track where they hold many races and other equestrian events.
