Mature Student on placement in cape town

I am looking for accomadation close to Groote Schuur Hospitail where I am on placement as a student social worker.  I am currently attending collage in Cork Ireland.  I will be arriving at the begining of september and leaving at the end of december.  I have never been to cape town before so I would appricate any information on transport and accomadation close to the groote schuur hospitail.  I will consider all forms of accomadation.
