What is it like to live in Calgary? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Calgary is a great city to live in. It has become a bit expensive for housing but it is big enough for major league entertainment and activities, but small enough that you never feel congested. The oil industry is the prime employer and workers make good wages, hence the high housing prices that go along with that.

What is the student lifestyle like in Calgary?

There are several post secondary schools: University of Calgary and Mount Royal University and Southern Alberta Institute of Technology among other smaller schools. There are amazing international calibre winter Olympic sport facilities and even dedicated sport high schools for high calibre athletes.

How much does it cost to live in Calgary?

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Calgary? Is there any advice you can give?

Vacancy rates are quite low.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Alberta is know for its beef, so there are lots of steak and burger joints. The bar scene is pretty good, with some spots catering to the area's Western cowboy heritage. Every July is Calgary Stampede that is a non-stop 2 week party. Even the businessmen show up to work in cowboy hats and boots and jeans.

What places would you recommend visiting in Calgary?

Canada Olympic Park, Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, Olympic Oval, Calgary Tower, Prince's Island, are all in the city. But the real attraction is an hour west of town in the Rocky Mountains. Canmore and Banff are two awesome mountain towns, skiing wildlife, biking and incredible scenery,
