Turkish Kebabs

-the perfect option for meals and rest If you go from Bulgaria to Greece or Tulcea County and come home and go on the classic version of the road Rousse-Sofia-Kulata-Blagoevgrad, as you know, the ones about 490 miles aren't exactly easy to drive for various reasons- restrictions, speed cameras, highway and national road that if you get 2-3 trucks in front you can shoot on the right to rest and get them from successfully after a few moments. Until Sofia we have not too rushed to make stops, after leaving on the circular at about 20 km from the city is Mc Donald with a boundary at the gasoline station that have food, possibly for a good coffee or something to eat, taking advantage of the payment with the card.

Then the approx. 140 km of Blagoevgrad to Kulata traverses a beautiful, very interesting even to Bulgaria, due to the men of Snowsports, leading the country to the Southwest peak Musala that sees a stain of snow even during the summer, due to the high altitude of 2925 m. area is fragmented by numerous valleys of the rivers intramontane depressions, which lead you through the natural park of Pirin with Vihren 2915 m towards which many of us hurry in winter for a little vacation to ski.  Especially in this part of Bulgaria is the place for hundreds of years, various ethnic groups, Bulgarians, Turks, Macedonians, Armenians, Tatars.

Returning from Greece at about 100 km from Kulata, right at the Shell petrol station we stopped for fuel supply.  Because it was lunch time, in the parking lot and I descended to make clean up a few steps and because Turkish Kebab restaurant invites us to enter I never stood on the thoughts and i've crossed the threshold.  Big and beautiful surprise. An authentic Turkish restaurant in the heart of Bulgaria. As I entered I was greeted by a waiter who invited us politely, speaking little and in Romanian (to how many Romans go on there, you had to talk perfectly, but eh ... the Whad'Ya know... Impressed us particularly comfortable décor and friendly staff.

The restaurant has 2 lounges. The room in which I stayed includes practical and kitchen, for that I have to say that everything is getting ready to light and of course to order. Everything is fresh, you can observe the process of the preparation of the menu.  The tables are made of wood, with similar chairs, walk flawlessly clean linoleum, all in dark mahogany color.  If you climb a few steps to the right, there is another salon, which comes out on a terrace and bar.  Somewhere in the left side after bar, restrooms are impeccably clean.  Besides the fact that the menu is written in English and you can steer for going to showcase the products specific to Turkish cuisine to make your choice of ' in plain sight '

In front of us, a wood-burning oven has prepared bread, PITA,  at the mass on a large wooden support, steamy and perfect taste that I remembered the bread test done by our elders in the villages, forgotten by the world of my childhood, is as distant in time ...  I also ordered 2 pizzas with cheese that we were all on a large wooden support. It was hard to prove due to appreciable size. It was not presented in the form of classical rotunda, but all under the oval shape., use your fingers.

When it comes to kebabs, I opted for the chicken, served kebabul as in Asia on the big plate. You can order either of kebabs and lamb, the Harbor, or beef. in the form of sticks with the meat baked in a jar.  If we wanted to order lunches could opt for kebabul doner served bread with salad and dressing.  It was the best kebabul chicken dish sat on a bed of rice, impeccable white grilled chicken wings 8 containing the jar with wide side salad.  The staff was extremely attentive and seeing the kids impressed loved preparing meals has invited to make pictures like some real chefs.

Then, when I was there (twice only, up to now, if you don't count and the transit toward Greece and back) I ' tested ' still some traditional dishes. About all this I was trying to say a few words in rows that follow: the Bulgarian Cuisine has also, like ours, ancient traditions and even some common roots; but each went on the ' path ' to her, caused mainly by geographical location (so the influences of neighboring indigenous ingredients and used) but also of history and politics. In particular, the Ottoman domination has left traces: preparations such as Pearl Jam, moussaka, baklava and cataiful are just a few examples of more ' vase '.

The Bill has been drawn up in the Bulgarian, but how the new currency had not, I paid in Eur without any problem, leaving some for blandness. Does the word ' tip ' the Turks not il mostenin?  If the roads that you make in the pass besides the Turkish Kebab does not avoid to enter, you will be pleasantly impressed by the friendliness, specific preparations and fresh and the prices more than reasonable location.
