Experience in Bishop's University, Canada by Madeleine
Generally, what is Bishop's University like?
Bishops is a university where everyone knows each other and has pride for their school. There is a lot of school spirit and they all bleed purple. It is the most fun you could have while studying. There are so many activities and different events to go to that you are never bored.
What are the facilities like?
It is a very small campus so everything is really close together but we have a new sport centre which is amazing!
What are the tutors like?
They care so much about their students and are very approachable and organised.
Are the lessons easy in Bishop's University?
They aren't easy but they aren't hard either. You should attend class and teachers are always available to help you.
Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?
There are so many activities both in the first and second semester. We have an amazing frosh week for first year students where the whole school gets involved. We also have homecoming where alumni come and there is a huge tailgate party during the football game. Everyone goes to the sports games which happen every week and we have a club on campus for Thursday nights and Saturday. During the winter semester we have winterfest which is a huge outdoor party in the quad where people do ski jumps and there is a dj and outdoor hockey tournament.
Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?
Teachers are great!
Are there any stories you can share?
Going to Bishops is the best decision I ever made. The school spirit is contagious and its an incredible experience. We have a school cheer and it says that you will never want to graduate and its so true. Once a gaiter always a gaiter.
