Why did you choose to go to Brussels, Belgium?

For it's international environment, it's an alternative city with many different things to do!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I was doing an Erasmus internship and I've received, for 5 months, 1050 euros.

What is the student lifestyle like in Brussels?

Great! There are some student residences in the center, I was living outside the center, in a shared accomodation with people that was working, so actually I haven't had a student lifestyle itself, tough it was an amazing experience!

Would you recommend the city and the University of Brussels to other students?

Yes, definitely. If you like beer, vintage markets, alternative plans...is your city

What is the food like?

Personally I don't like typical Belgium food (fries with sauces, waffles....) but there's a huge variety of nice restaurants from all around the world.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Brussels?

Not really, i went there 3 days ago and after 3 days I've found exactly what I was looking for.

How much does it cost to live in Brussels?

Mmm, let's say is not a cheap destination, as of course is a big city. Transport is around 50e per month, food depending where you buy it, and there are always nice bars with special deals!

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I was doing French in "Maison de l'Ámerique Latine" and I will recommend it 100%

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Brussels from your city?

Plane!

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Brussels?

Ixelles, around Place Flagey!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Brussels?

Restaurants around Flagey area! Makisu for sushi, les superfilles du tram for burgers...

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Everything is nice there. Go to visit the park of Bois de la cambre, nice environment when sunny, vintage market every first weekend of the month next to Saint Catherine, area of Jeau de balle, supernice!

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Brussels in the future?

GO AND ENJOY!
