Why did you choose to go to Brussels, Belgium?
Firstly, because it's the centre of Europe, and then because the level of teaching is good and also because it's a multicultural and multilingual city.
How long does the grant last? How much money do you get for help?
The grant lasted the time of my stay, so one semester, and I received the difference between the alleged living costs in Portugal and the alleged livings costs in Brussels, €350/month.
How's the student environment in Brussels?
Fantastic.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Brussels to other students?
Without any ounce of doubt.
How is the country's food?
There is a large variety of food, however it's all relative to the means of each students, the best is to be a good chef and be able to cook at home.
How did you find accommodation?
Through the university.
How are the accommodation prices? And the prices in general?
Not very expensive when you compare it with other European capitals.
How's the language? Did you attend a language course at the university?
Yes, I took an English and a French course.
What's the cheapest way of getting to Brussels from your city?
Plane, with low-cost flights.
Where would you recommend for a night out in Brussels?
Grand-Place, Royal Museum. The city had a programme full of activities every month and there is a cultural magazine called "Brussels".
And for eating out in Brussels? Can you name your favourite places?
Home.
And in terms of cultural visits?
Atomium, Royal Museum, Grand-place, amongst others.
Do you have any advice you'd like to give futures students in Brussels?
Enjoy yourself and make the most of it, you have to enjoy your life.
