What is it like to live in Braga? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Yes, i lived in there my entire life. Actually it's amazing, you have everything you need and more, people are nice, we have nice food, and also we have good university,

Braga is a city with a lot of history, you have a lot of places that you can visit or go to hang out with your friends, and it's a safe city in comparison with other cities.

If you are athletic person, you have free places to practice, it is called Rodovia, also we have a bicycle path that you can run or go by bicycle. Also Braga has a lot of university traditions, like Enterro da Gata and the reception of freshman.

What is the student lifestyle like in Braga?

well, i think is pretty good, you have to work a lot but also you have time for your social life. The classes are given in English, and also you have a lot of support of the teachers. If you don't understand anything, you can go to the teacher's office or you can ask after the class. I recommend finding people that have classes with you and study with each other. Also the university has available 24 hours rooms that you can studying any time that you want.

How much does it cost to live in Braga?

It this one of the cheaper cities in Portugal, the super markets have everything you need, since food already prepare or the ingredients. Also you can eat in the canteens that is cheaper that the restaurant, i think is 2. 35 euros one ticket. But in the restaurant you also have the dish of the day, that is 5 euros.

But you have all the information that you need in the university site.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Braga? Is there any advice you can give?

No, you have the university residences or you can find another type of accommodation. You can apply for a buddy, what will help you with that. You can do that in the site of ESN Minho.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Actually it's very tasty, we use a lot of spices in the food, i hope you would like that tho.

We have a lot of Italian dishes in our gastronomy, if you like Italian food you would like ours. I think my favourite dish is codfish with sour cream or anything codfish. Also we 're very good in deserts, i recommend you to try everything i can not pick one.

What places would you recommend visiting in Braga?

I recommend the sé of Braga, Bom jesus in the evening because you can the see the lights and all of the city, it's an amazing view. But my favourite is the centre, because you have all the history of the city and you can see the amazing architecture.

Is it good to eat out in Braga? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, i recommend Spirito, i love all the deserts in there, it's amazing. You also have the world's best nata!

In the other hand, we have a lot good places of eat, i recommend "o Campones".

Is the nightlife good in Braga? Where is good to go?

Well, we have nights specially for university students, it's on Wednesdays, you can go to Sardinha Biba or Keimodrumo. Generally, women have 3 drinks and only pay 3 euros. You also can go to Bar académico, that is like a club, but the students of university not pay, they only pay what they consume. Also you have their billiards and stuff like that.

In the other hand, the street of universities have a lot of bars, so you have hang out one of the bars. On Fridays and Saturdays I recommend the centre of the city, they have a lot of alternatives bars.

What advice would you give future students heading to Braga?

If you come here please not miss the Enterro da Gata, i think i spend the all year wait for this event. In that week we don't have class, and we celebrate the first year of the freshman and the end of the course of the finalists. we spend all week in concerts and it's really good. Also recommend if you come, that you will see one concert in Theatro Circo it's amazing.
