Why did you choose to go to Braga, Portugal?

I had never been in South Europe before. Although this my choice was strange for some my colleagues as I had my Phd internship there

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Three month. 1500 euros

What is the student lifestyle like in Braga?

Although I was not real student (as I mentioned above I was there for my Phd internship) but I think student life is realy great

Would you recommend the city and the University of Braga to other students?

yes

What is the food like?

Fresh and cheap. For vegetarians or those who eat less meat Portugal is perfect place for erasmus. Because you always will find fresh and cheap vegetables, variety of sea food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Braga?

no. I found it by myself on the internet. I rent a room in a house near by the university of Minho

How much does it cost to live in Braga?

rent 110 euros per month. Travelling, fun and food 300 per month

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

yes its available to learn portugese.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Braga from your city?

by plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Braga?

Maria Balacha :) for cup of tea or muffin

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Braga?

Yes. I dotn rememeber the name of the restaurant but I think everyone should try indian food restaurant.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Bom Jesus, some churches

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Braga in the future?

Take umbrellas, jackets and sweaters. Portugese don't have heating system. It is important especially if you arriving in winter. I had not known that and I was suffering of cold all the time.
