Erasmus Experience in Bologna, Italy by Zsófia
Why did you choose to go to Bologna, Italy?
I asked my Italian friends and they recommended it.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
6 months. I got 3000 euro.
What is the student lifestyle like in Bologna?
It's a student city. I spent my time in the university quarter It's like a huge campus day and night. It's fun!
Would you recommend the city and the University of Bologna to other students?
Definitely it's a good choice. Cheap compare to Italy but has everything that a big city has.
What is the food like?
Italian food. Pasta, pasta, pasta... maybe salad. Did you hear about the spaghetti bolognese? It's their home:)
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Bologna?
Nope. I found it online.
How much does it cost to live in Bologna?
300 euro the apartment and 200 euro to eat, travel ect. It depends what do you do. I think to go out is pretty expensive. 5 euro for a beer? Come on!
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
I think you could do some course. I did the intensive language course connected with the erasmus scolarship. So I spoke well when I arrived.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Bologna from your city?
Well, we had a direct flight. Ryanair and wizzair. It was really cheap and fast. But in the end they cancelled both of these flight. So you should take a flight from Venice. Actually I took the bus because of my luggages. Otherwise the flight is cheaper.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Bologna?
Good question. I did't like the clubs there. But I liked Piazza Verdi:) Or piazza Santo Stefano.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Bologna?
If I could remember... it was on the street of San Vitale the 3. corner I guess. The same corner where you can find the club Arteria.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
I would recommend the 7 secret. It's also good for sightseeing.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Bologna in the future?
Work hard, party harder!
