Erasmus Experience in Bologna, Italy by Oscar
Why did you decide to go to Bologna, Italy?
It's the first university in the World. The biggest Italian university. Interesting lessons.
For how long did you receive a bursary? How much money did you receive in aid?
Until the end of January. 300€ a month.
How is the student environment in Bologna?
Excellent! You bump into people at every corner. Partying without getting too drunk. That is in the social centres, there may also be more intelligent parties than the usual Erasmus parties, which always play the same music...
You need to be curious.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Bologna to other students?
Obviously!
How is the food in the country?
Italian food is the best in the world. About this there is no doubt.
Was it difficult to find accommodation in Bologna?
No, it was ok. It can be a bit hard. However, with the Bussola association I found a place quickly.
How much does it cost to live in Bologna?
700€ a month. All inclusive. Then you can spend a good deal on evenings or cultural activities.
How did it go with the language? Did you go to some courses at the university?
The language was ok. The important thing is to take the lead. There are language courses. They give you some grammatical and cultural references.
However it is the grammar that you learn overall.
What is the most economical way to get to Bologna from your city?
By plane.
Which places do you recommend to go out in the evenings?
Tuesday, Vag61, Wednesday, Là-bas. Saturday, Crash or Estragon. You can go to Arteria. Lab 16 sucks.
Osteria del Sole is cute.
And to eat out in Bologna? Can you speak to us about your favourite places?
Fantoni, Orsa, Pizzartist, SpaccaNapoli, Pasta Naldi, Capra and Cavolo.
And the cultural attractions to see?
Loads!
What advice would you like to give to future students at Bologna?
Don't waste a minute more!
