Why did you choose to go to Bologna, Italy?

Because I wanted to study at one of the famous universities in Europe - University of Bologna.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship lasted 10 months, and I received an ordinary Erasmus Mundus scholarship.

What is the student lifestyle like in Bologna?

I was working mostly as a researcher, not a student, so I was too far away from ordinary student life.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Bologna to other students?

Yes, of course! Bologna is a special place for living and studying!

What is the food like?

The food is very-very delicious there: the ice-cream, pizza, cheese, mozzarella, etc. are excellent!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Bologna?

No, I found it before leaving, from the official site of the University of Bologna.

How much does it cost to live in Bologna?

I was paying around 650 EUR for a small apartment (studio) while spending around 350 EUR for food and 100 EUR for public transportation.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, the University of Bologna provides special courses of Italian. This language is very beautiful and sounds like a song. Therefore, it is not too hard to begin studying it.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Bologna from your city?

I used the Meridiana company.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Bologna?

I would recommend visiting the city center. It is very beautiful and it has a big number of clubs, bars, pizzerias, etc.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Bologna?

All in the city center are excellent!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

From a historical point of view: Ravenna, Cesena, San Marino, Parma, Venezia, Verona, and Trieste.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Bologna in the future?

Every winter there are lots of sales in Italian shops. For those who are wishing to buy something new, I would recommend going along the street "Independenza" (in Bologna) before and after the Christmas and to visit all the shops there.
