What is it like to live in Bogor? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Live in bogot is cheaper than jakarta but not as crowded like bandung. It's like put 2 cities in a places. It's normal to rainy for 5 mijutes and sunny for the other minutes. People.in bogir is very nice and different than my hometown. But they so relax. For example, they very oatient ti qait the customer. The problem, sometimes i need to hurry go to school. The public transport just wait and wait. They didn't have the exact time. So,it's better to use 'gojek' or 'grab' (the online transportation). I would recomment bogir for you because the quality of life is very good in bogor. Price is reasonable,near to each other, a lot of entertainibg place (museum, cafe, garden). Don't expect party like in us or europe. It's not common in Indonesia. If you said party,means a wedding or bithday party. However, if we want to chit chat and enjoy the night, we will go to cafe. The ambiance us nice, food is delicioys and the important thing is the lrice us cheaper than other..bogir also.produce a lot of fresh milk and many kind of food.

What is the student lifestyle like in Bogor?

Student life, we stydy a lot in the field. Because in IPB (bogor agriculture university) it's common to go ti the field or plantation everyday. We just study at room/lab/field/ and we are busy to try to produce our research to be business opportunity. University provide us qith incubator bussiness. So, if we have a new research and we think it will accept by market, normally we will as the incubator bussines to help us to mapping the bussiness concept. It' s become famous in bogor now. It can be use for public also.

How much does it cost to live in Bogor?

If you are foreigner and want to stay at room with a private bathroom (shower), the rent is Rp 600.000/month or $40 (near campus). But if you the modrrn one, with wifi, new building, and such luxuri thing it cost Rp 1.000.000 or $65 ( $1=15.454 now). The other expense for food,coffee in starbuck,sim card+internet+online transpirtation+watch movie+miscelinous thing,it will cost Rp 500.000-Rp700.000

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Bogor? Is there any advice you can give?

No, very easg. You just go to around university..in front of the hous/gate, they will put an advertisinf said 'kamar kosong' means 'theres an empty room'. They will say it' s for man or woman. It'S not ussual to share hous with different gender. However, some house provide separate room and the main hous (sometime we live with the owner). Don't worry, most of the payment for the rent is include utilities. But,umiversity is in subburn area. Even a lit of people and easy transport, i choose to live in the city (30 minutes from.university). Because it's near with mall, cafe, and many interesting area.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food,not i sweet and to spicy. But ghey provide various kind of food and snack
Nowadays the fiod become more.convinient to bring. Previpusly when i miss 'talas bogir', it's immpsiblle to bring to my hometown. However my favorit dishes ever in bogir is cireng, seblak, all ingridients from milk, bakso (they have the famous one), bebek bakar and of course cilok.

What places would you recommend visiting in Bogor?

Taman raya bogor (Indonesian, foreign people that have KITAS and foreign student with university card) pay only $14.000 or not even $1. But uf yoh don't have, you need to pay Rp 40.000 or $3.6. And from bogor, you can go to pundak with public transportation online transportation with the very cheap place. You can go to might safari,cimory, little venice, flower garden, and a lot of thing nearby. It just,you need to go 1 place, go by walk to other one by walk.

Is it good to eat out in Bogor? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, its very good and delicious. CIMORY OF COURSE. They provude fresh mil, beautiful view, nice ambiance and we can go by online transportaion using motorcycle only Rp 10
000 or by mini bus Rp 4.000. They also provide a small zoo at that place. It' s like the place to eat, shopping and have fun but not very crowded. Nice to spent time here

Is the nightlife good in Bogor? Where is good to go?

Yes. But don't expect like us or europ country. Night life means we go for dinner amd chit with friends till 10 pm. Sometime we go to see the stargaze at puncak or camping

What advice would you give future students heading to Bogor?

If you are european or us tydent and its common to eat bread, you can buy in the centre. Once you arrive in indonesia, donwlod the 'gojek application'. It' snprivude transportation,food delivery service, massage, saloon, cut hair,clean the house,pick up the medicine,help you to move ot and bring your kurgage and everything inside the house, etc. It's convinient and a lot in bogor.don't forget to bring umbrella and jacket. Because it' s very normal for sudden rain everyday. You naver can predict bogor weather. Always yse rain cover for your bag and be carefull (put your bag in front of you once you are in public transportaion include the train if yoh want to go to jakarta
