Going to Zermatt

If you love the mountain and you ever find yourself in Switzerland even if it is in Summer or in Winter you should try to visit Zermatt.

Zermatt is a small city, maybe it can be considered as a town, at one thousand and six hundred meters of altitude which is perfect for skying in winter and for hiking in summer.

Visit Matterhorn/Cervino

We were there for two days and found lots of things to do. I do recomend everyone to go to the Gornengrat mountain, at three thousand of meters of altitude from which you will find a great landscape with the Matterhorn/Cervino mountain in it. This is an interesting mountain by two reasons, first of all, as it is between Switzerland and Italy it has both the italian and the german name. And the reason that the chocolate lovers will find interesting is that the Cervino/Matterhorn mountain is the one that appears in the toblerone label!

There are also close to the town a small waterfall which can be seen if having time but not an essential place where to be.

As already known by nearly everyone Switzerland is very expensive, so Zermatt is even more! This is the main drawback of being in such a beautiful place, you have to pay a lot for it...

Couchsurfing as an option

I do recomend everyone to try to do couchsurfing there! For the ones that do not know what couchsurfing is just search for it on google, but basically it works as a social network in which people offers them house to accomodate travelers, by free! We did it and slept in a good house and made a friend with who we hung out our last night there, it was awesome. Even being a small village there is a lot of nightlife as everyone there is people who have gone there in order to practice sport and have a good time, also at night.

And at last but not least, from there you can get the Glacier Express train which is a panoramic train that goes all over the glaciar and allows to enjoy lovely landscapes.
