Beer Sheva is big city, but all the student life is around the university.
What is the student lifestyle like in Beer-Sheva?
Being a student in Beer-Sheva is great! Everything- all the apartments, the bars, the swimming pool, the school is in a walking distance. The atmosphere is warm and people are friendly. Besides, there are a lot of activities for students, and every Wednesday there is an acro yoga meeting at the grass.
How much does it cost to live in Beer-Sheva?
Beer Sheva is not expensive. The bars, parties, food, apartments are cheap, although the apartments are old. It is really recommended to find an apartment and not to live in the dorms, and a good price for a person is 1000-1400 shekels.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Beer-Sheva? Is there any advice you can give?
It is not very difficult, and most people speak English, so it is easy to communicate. Most students find apartments through facebook groups, although they are in Hebrew, you can write in English and people will replay.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The food is amazing, and there is a big variety! From sushi, burgers, pasta to local hummus and falafel. My favorite dish is hummus.
What places would you recommend visiting in Beer-Sheva?
There is the science park, and the old city is nice. In addition, you can take a bus to visit outside Beer- Sheva: to the dead sea, or get to Jerusalem or Tel-Aviv (both are an hour and fifteen minutes bus from Beer-Sheva).
Is it good to eat out in Beer-Sheva? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
It is good to eat outside once in a while. On Ringnblume street you can find all kind of restaurants. You can also take a bus to "the library", they serve the best hamburgers!
Is the nightlife good in Beer-Sheva? Where is good to go?
The nightlife is great. There are a lot of apartment parties. There are good bars in the center : Manga bar, Rosa bar, and more quiet bars are Coca and The Manchila. Every Wednesday there is a party at the Baraka club.
What advice would you give future students heading to Beer-Sheva?
Beer Sheva is all about the people, so don't let the old buildings in the area full you.
