What is it like to live in Aydin? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

If you're coming to Aydin, keep in your mind that depending on the department you will be studying you will be living in either Aydin the city or Kusadasi (for Tourism student).

Both cities are considerably small, about 90000 population each but Kusadasi is more touristic due to its beaches in the Aegean Sea.

What is the student lifestyle like in Aydin?

Student lifestyle is pretty quiet in the winter and it gets more active in spring and summer.

How much does it cost to live in Aydin?

Aydin or Kusadasi are not that expensive. The local money which is lira does cost about 0. 35 Euro so the 400 Euro that you will get from Erasmus program is more than enough for normal life.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Aydin? Is there any advice you can give?

To find an accommodation is not quite that hard. A student can find a rental apartment for between 300 and 500 lira, but the bills is not included, in total you will be paying about 600 lira in total for a 2+1 or 3+1 apartment.

Students can also find hotel rooms to rent for about 250 or 300, including the bills and the breakfast and dinner, so it's quite economical.

As a third alternative, there's the Government dormitory and it's quite cheap. It will cost about 186 lira. But there're restrictions to use it.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Turkish cuisine is so tasty. I really like kebab.

What places would you recommend visiting in Aydin?

Ephesus is a really good place to visit. From there you can go to the House of the Virgin Mary. You can visit also Pamukkale, Sirince and many other destinations.

Is it good to eat out in Aydin? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Well there are places where you can pay 3 lira for a sandwich, and also places where they will ask you for 50 lira for a meal. It depends on what you're asking.

Is the nightlife good in Aydin? Where is good to go?

One word: Bar Street.
