It is a famous public university in Visakhapatnam, India. Huge campus and different departments attract students from all over India.

What are the facilities like?

Andhra University main campus is spread over 422 acres of area on a sprawling green land. The university campus is comprised of 121 academic buildings, 324 staff quarters, support services and a plinth area of 190,000 square metres.

The university campus is mainly divided into two sections – the south campus and the north. The north campus houses the Engineering colleges and the south campus comprises of the Arts, Humanities, Science departments and the administrative block.

Andhra University library has a large collection of books, paper and palm-leaf manuscript important journals, microfilms and many more. The library caters to the needs of all departments since its inception.

In recent times, the e-journals are made available to the campus academic community of Andhra Pradesh through UGC Infonet programme.

The university campus has 19 hostels for men and four hostels for women with accommodation capacity of 4,300 students. For staff, 340 units of accommodation are available at the staff quarters. The Andhra University hostel fee structure is given on its official website.

Andhra University campus has three health centres including a homoeopathy dispensary. Apart from that, there is a faculty club, an open-air theatre three guest houses and a campus school for the children of university school.

the Academic Council adopted a resolution and recommended to the Senate that compulsory Physical training and regular medical inspection of all the students be introduced in all the affiliated colleges. All the students who do not take part in sports shall undergo a compulsory course of Gymnastics or any other form of physical training.
