One of the best things about coming back after a long time abroad, is getting the chance to catch up with your best friends. That was the case for me when I saw Ariola, one of my best friends, whom I´ve known for five years now. This reunion couldn´t be held too late. So, instead, I decided to plan it right away -the very same day I returned to Greece! I calles her from the airport and we made plans to go to a local cafe, where we used to hang out before my erasmus. Then I went home, I hung out with my mum and told her about my trip and everything, then I got some rest and got ready for my reunion. This was one of the few exciting moments of my first days back in Athens (check my other post to see what I mean!) and the truth is it was really fun.

Skype is okay, but being able to hug and kiss your friend, to laugh and hear them laugh in person, just a couple of steps away from you, is priceless. At first it was really awkward to try and realise we were together again, no mobile phones, no skype or cameras, just us, but soon we forgot about that and focused on our news. The strikes in Athens, the closing of the national television, the desorganization of our universities -and then our own news, personal staff, even those that didn´t matter any more, or those that didn´t matter at all. Cause what did matter was that we could share those things in person.
