Experience in University of Vienna, Austria by Flora
Generally, what is University of Vienna like?
I love the atmosphere of the impressive main building. The library is very good and offers a perfectly working delivery service. Unfortunately there are way less places available than would be required in many subjects, so very often students have to wait for a place in a highly demanded class for more than two terms.
What are the facilities like?
The University of Vienna would need some refurbishments and more advance technological facilities, but the lectures offered are wide-ranged and interesting. The library is first class and in summer the yard offers a perfect learning place.
What are the tutors like?
Since there are mostly a lot of student in one class (in bachelor module) it is hard for tutors to provide personal assistance for everyone, but they give there best and work very hard to help.
Are the lessons easy in University of Vienna?
There is a bigger difference between the requirements of different classes and also between their modes of grading. But there are different websites giving information on what to expect from classes and professors, thus I would recommend to make enquiries before inscribing to find the class suiting best for your own's preferment.
Does the University organize activities? What are they like?
The university offers different kinds of lectures outside the curriculum. Other activities are majorly provided from student organizations.
Do you think the teaching is of a high quality?
Yes.
Are there any stories you can share?
I would recommend everybody coming to Vienna being informed about the different university buildings spread over the whole city. The least lectures take place in the astonishing, beautiful main building.
