Generally, what is Aston University like?

Aston is a small, friendly and welcoming university. Its right in the heart of Birmingham so there's plenty to do and discover. There are a few bars right on the outskirts of the campus, which is wonderfully convenient.

What are the facilities like?

The library at Aston has a vast range of books on offer and is open till very late during exam season! The printing system is very convenient and easy to use.

There are many computer rooms for use and the staff are happy to help you find what you need.

What are the tutors like?

The tutors (from the language department) are quick to answer your emails and happy to help you with any general questions about modules or assessments.

Are the lessons easy in Aston University?

The atmosphere during my lessons is pretty laid back but only if you've done the work. I wouldn't say the lessons are easy, there are challenges but so long as you show some kind of interest and willingness to try then the tutors will be there.

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

The Student Union organise a number of nights out, both within the Union itself and within the Birmingham city centre. Its always enjoyable as there is usually a big crowd of people.

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

Yes and although each lecturer has a different teaching style, the standards are always high.

Are there any stories you can share?

Personally, I have found joining a number of 'societies' at Aston has been the best part of my social life. I've found people with whom I have common interests and so have many many great friends.
