BLOOMBREIN is a kid focused education center which offers its own and unique education programs that educate the 8-12 age group with 21st century skills such as Critical Thinking, Leadership, Communication, Productivity, Collaboration, Flexibility, Digital Skills and many more.

We seek part-time junior program teachers to work directly with primary school children in an engaging educational program. Educators must be energetic, youth-focused, and passionate about providing high quality education to Amsterdam youth.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, speaks both Dutch and English, is passionate about serving youth in an educational setting, with the ability to mentor primary school children.

The part-time Junior Program Tutor, under the direction of the Program Director, is responsible for the implementation of the Bloombrein program model, which you do from your pedagogical knowledge and according to the policy plan.

Your general responsibilities will be:

  • Assisting with curricula development and implementation
  • Deliver lesson plans for groups of children 8-12 y/o
  • Prepare materials and supplies necessary for lessons
  • Assist with cleaning up lesson facilities

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Speaks Dutch and English

• Is currently enrolled or has graduated from MBO/HBO education at any level.

• College experience preferred with coursework in education, social or human services, child development, or related field is desirable.

• Experience working in an after school, day camp, or NGO for primary school youth is preferred.

• Experience creating lesson plans or multi-week curriculum for primary school youth preferred.

• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with school district staff, program staff, parents, and community leaders.

• Experience with youth development principles and primary school aged youth preferred.

• Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others as well as respond to critical incidents and act swiftly in an emergency situation.

• Excellent organizational skills and communication skills.

• Experience with basic computer software programs.

• Must have a clear Criminal Record.

• Familiarity and experience with diverse populations and culture competencies strongly desired.
