American moving to Amsterdam looking for accommodation

Hi! I'm Abby and I'm moving to Amsterdam in August to pursue my Master's in New Media and Digital Culture at University of Amsterdam.

I'm looking for a room/studio/apartment that is either a private place or allows me to have a private room that is furnished with access to public transport. Preferably under 700€ per month. I need a place available for at least a year beginning August. 

About me: I'm a very laid back person and have been told that I could get along with a wall. I enjoy socializing but also when I'm home, I like spending time alone or just hanging out. I love cooking, watching Netflix, trying new food and petting dogs.

My previous roommate describes me as: easy-going, neat, good at cooking chicken fingers, and goofy.
