Night life, Free time, coffe shops!!!

I think this is the reason why people love Amsterdam so much, because people who live there are outgoing. It doesn’t matter if its Monday, Friday or Tuesday, is it 10am or 10pm. You can go out to the cafes, bars, clubs or even park, have your glass of wine or bear, its all good no judgment! Where to go? I even don’t know with what to start, from this side of view city is very colourful.

Behind me is place I will tell you about.

Party in my way

Wed. Thur. Fri. Sat. Those days are officially party days. But we went whenever we wanted, we always started at Leidseplein this is one of the main areas for partying. We took drink at Pancake Corner=Sport Bar It’s on the corner just next to Buldog, biggest coffe-shop in Amsterdam. To get in dance mood 10 shot ‘’bank’’ was enough for us. They taste horrible ugh, but fun part is that they are served in test tubes.

Just on your right from this bar starts Club Street, promoters will try get girls in the club offering free shots and also for girls there will be no entrance fee, for guys they will ask to pay in most of the times, sometimes even they will not let in guys because they are too many inside. We always went from one club to another. In this clubs mostly play dance music, remix, reggaeton. Across square is terrace side also with clubs and bars, on left side are two big clubs Melkweg and Paradiso both offer different music, Paradiso is known for R&B music, but Melkweg is mix but mostly Techno music. Both places charge entrance fee, because in this clubs plays well know DJ’s. On right side are different bars, like waterloplain where you can play billiard, in weekends life music and sometimes you can meet artist hoe will draw your portrait.

After we were danced at all clubs in Leidseplein we went to Rembrandtplein, this is other main partying place, both street sides are different clubs and bars. The most popular is Coco’s. Every Wednesday multiple universities organize international student evening. Also club Escape organize student evening each Thursday and entrance is free. Most of the clubs closes after 3am while Smokey (Rembrandtplein) is open till 5am on weekends.

Other partying places

• Chupitos is shot bar they have around 100 different shots and different ways how to make them. Super fun place to go.
• Bukowski also called single bar, because there go a lot single guys; ) (oosterpark 10)
• Club Nyx is a Dutch club, play different music, more techno but also dance mix, also through night you will see show presented by dancers.
• Club Panama this place is special because they organize the best 80’s 90’s parties.
• Hannekes Boom is a bar/restourant loved by Dutch mostly, this place is located next to the water and if you are with boat you can stop buy and have some food. Or just go there for glass of beer, in the weekends is very crowdie there. (Dijksgracht 4)
• Het Paardje is THE most famous place in the Pijp, nothing special about it just everyone likes to go there.
• Hiding in Plain side: this bar is really hide. Everyone who works in this bar are from art Academy or are related to art. Life music plays student orchestra. (Rapenburg 18)

Fancy places=Fancy dress code

• SkyLounge: is Bar located on 11 flor overlooking Amsterdam. Life music on Fridays. Worth to visit.
• W Lounge: is Bar in 5* hotel. From there you can overlook all Amsterdam and maybe even see what going on in the Palace. This place is very fancy J Love interior.
• Door 74: place known for very authentic way to present cocktails. Each three month they have new cocktail menu. Always need to make reservation.
• Supperclub: Day time restaurant with beds in the night club. They also have club on the boat.

There are many, many more places in Amsterdam where to go, I just mentioned my favourite places and not even all of them.

Weed

Coffee-shops are not allowed to advertised so I can’t tell you where is good place to go. But If you smoke weed or want to try it, you can do it ONLY in the coffee-shop. It’s not allowed smoke on the streets. And you must be 18+ to enter coffee-shop. This place are located everywhere, you will feel the smell from far away.

Tip: If you never smoked weed before, it’s best to smoke with empty stomach, and also best is to buy actual weed not joint, I never trusted joints and I had the worst experience from them(vomiting, heart problems) When you buy weed you can choose between different effect, happy, chill, active etc. For the first time don’t smoke more than one push, weed works slowly by each 10 min comes bigger effect. Also if you will stay in one place advisable is not to drink alcohol because it will make you active, but weed makes you chill, stoned, and this two combination doesn’t go together. Make sure you have food and water.

Time to go home

From all places in Amsterdam goes night busses, and for night bus you need to buy separate ticket in the bus, OV-Chip card doesn’t work. You can also take taxi, but it’s very expensive, alternative is Uber. Also sometimes guys who has car will offer you to drive home for additional coast, it’s a black taxi. And this is the one we always used.
