KLIK animation festival

This weekend, my boyfriend came to visit me in the Netherlands.

I really wanted to find something interesting and new for the two of us to do.

We both love to watch movies, series, and cartoons, so when I picked up a flyer of the Klik! animation festival and realised that it was on the same weekend that my lovely other half was visiting, I was very excited!

Klik! Animated film festival has been going on for 5 years in Amsterdam.
For the first time this year, it was in the amazing Eye building which is located opposite Amsterdam train station.

We spent 55 euros on a whole weekend pass. All in all we attended the venue on 4 days and watched 11 showings of films, short films, lectures and even a south park themed sing-a-long. Let me tell you, there was A LOT of swearing in that room!
As well as the specific program of events, there was also a lot of crazy artwork around the cinema including a dissected bean bag monster which you could sit on to eat your lunch.
They also had a festival dinner each day for just 10 euros. The only issue here was that they only accepted cards as payment which is something to bear in mind if you ever get a chance to visit the eye. But don’t let that put you off.

All in all we had an awesome weekend and are considering coming back to the Netherlands for it next year!
