If you are ready to experience something absolutely amazing, go take a swing at the Casa del Arbol in Baños!
Located in the center of the country of Ecuador, Baños is a city famous for nature-tourism. It is surrounded by mountains and the last city before the jungle and the Amazon. There is tons of stuff to do in Baños: mountain biking, hiking, bungee jumping, rafting, etc., but also a lot of beautiful places to discover and one of the most epic ones is for sure the Casa del Arbol.
From the city you can take a bus up to the mountain where the Casa del Arbol is situated, or if you are brave you can take the 2 hour hike up! Arriving on the top you will see a sign guiding you to the Casa del Arbol (translated: house of the tree), which is in fact really a super cute tree house which you can climb up to.
What people really come here for is although the swing that is hanging from the tree house. If you take a seat there you can swing out over a void (actually it just feels like it, there is a steep hill in fact), take amazing pictures and enjoy the breathtaking view.
What is even more special about this place is that the active volcano Tungurahua is right next to the mountain and if you are super super lucky, (like I was) you get to see the volcano in active mode, spitting out smoke and sometimes even lava!
The place is known by many people and depending on the time you might have to stand in line for the swing, as everybody wants to take a shot and get their picture taken. But it is totally worth it and will stay an unforgettable memory for a lifetime.
