Education in Amasya
The University of Amasya is founded on 17 March 2006. The University dates back to 1974, when the Ministry of Education established a teacher training institution in Amasya. In 1975, the Ministry of Education also established a vocational school in Amasya.
In 1982, when the Higher Education Council was established, these two schools became units of the University of Ondokuz Mayıs in Samsun. In the 2011-2012 academic year, the University of Amasya taught students through five faculties, including education, science, arts, architecture, technology and medicine.
Amasya University has limited international agreements compared to other universities, but the number of international conventions and programs is growing rapidly. The university has some international exchange programs such as Erasmus, Grundtvig, Leonardo and Comenius. Each year a limited number of students come to foreign universities through these programs.
