Arrival in Alicante

I arrived in the scorching heat of the beautiful city of Alicante on Tuesday 30th August 2016. My friend and I had come from one of the most famous and multicultural capitals in the world: London, England. Between the two of us, we knew about one quarter of the Spanish language which I had obtained from my A-Level in Spanish.

We knew this could prove to be difficult in some instances but we were willing to give it a go. On our arrival to the airport we were greeted by a woman. This woman showed us our pick up service driver who did not speak a word of English. We soon learned this would be the case for most of the residents in Alicante including, funnily enough, our landlady.
