What is it like to live in Ålesund? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I would really recommend staying in Ålesund. It is a beautiful small city, and I think it is the perfect size for the students. We are a perfect number of students according to the amount of activities that are possible here. Many people talk about the 'bad weather" but I think it's unique.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ålesund?

As a student here, we are a lot with our classmates after the lessons, like hiking, going to restaurants or cafes, or maybe a party ones in a while.

When the sun is shining here, we take advantage of it and having a barbecue or swimming.

How much does it cost to live in Ålesund?

It's quite expensive as the rest of Norway.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ålesund? Is there any advice you can give?

It is not difficult, but you have to be pacient. The advice I would give is to contact the university, they have smaller student dorms not far from school.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food here is a lot of fish, but also dishes that comes from other countries, like chinese food, pizza, and things like this. My favorite dish is sushi!

What places would you recommend visiting in Ålesund?

Fjellstua, Sukkertoppen, Geiranger, Trollstigen and Alnes.

Is it good to eat out in Ålesund? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

My favorites spots are the chinese food restaurants, Lyst, Lyspunktet, Anno and XLdiner.

Is the nightlife good in Ålesund? Where is good to go?

Yes, it is very good. Hoffmann, Keisern, Pianisten or Terminalen, these are the places to be.

What advice would you give future students heading to Ålesund?

Bring a raincoat and preper to experience unique things in unique weather with the best study partners you could possible imagine.
