What is it like to live in Ahmedabad? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Ahmedabad is big and peaceful city having all aminities like public & private transportation. Population of city is @ 6 milion.City is having big malls, big Hotels, Multiplexes, shopping areas, Very good infrastructure of wide roads.City is not costly hence students can manage to live in city according to their budget. It is good city to live and I would recommended to live in the city.Less crime rate.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ahmedabad?

Moderate life style, Not hi fi. Students enjoy parties in hotels, restaurants, colleges or in their homes. Most of the families are joint families means students live with their parents. Night club culture is minimum. Mostly Students enjoy food like Punjabi, Chinese, Maxican and other continental food in parties and in holidays with family.Students are fond of cloths and various dressings.Students also love watching films,long drives,music etc.

How much does it cost to live in Ahmedabad?

In normal PG @ Rs. 10000 per person per month in room sharing bases which includes stay, food , wasing of cloths and Electricity. These rates will vary according to city area, other facilities like air conditioners, wi fi , etc.will be charged additionally accoding to usage.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ahmedabad? Is there any advice you can give?

Not so difficult but in some areas it is difficult. In many areas it is easily available through broker or by reading advertisement in news paper or by going through web sites like magic bricks, 90 acre etc.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

In restaurants or hotels Punjabi , Gujarati , Maxican, Chinese,Italian, continental etc.foods are easily available.My favourate dish is punjabi food.

What places would you recommend visiting in Ahmedabad?

There are places like Akshardham temple, Sabamati Ashram, River front, kankaria lake, ISKON temple, Adalaj wav, Heritege houses of inner city, Alfa one mall, Modhera sun temple, Science city,Vastrapur lake,Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial and Hathisingh Dera in Ahmedabad and very near to ahmedabad . Ahmedabad is under consideration to be declared as heritege city.

Is it good to eat out in Ahmedabad? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Hotels, Restaurants and street foods are easily available in ahmedabad. One can select the place looking to its cleanliness and hygene. I would suggest to eat hot and fresh food as ahmedabad is hot city and winter season is very small. Mostly the city temperature remains @ 35 degree C plus. In summer it goes up to even 45'c plus. I would also suggest to drink packaged mineral water bottle. Favourite spots are vastrapur,IIM Road, Prahladnagar, SG Highway,CEPT university Road,Law Garden and CG Road,

Is the nightlife good in Ahmedabad? Where is good to go?

Night life in city is minimum. Hovever it can be available in five star hotels and reputed clubs like Rajpath club, Karnavati club etc. Most of the restaurants or hotels closes at 12 P.M.max.

What advice would you give future students heading to Ahmedabad?

Ahmedabad is safe and silent place. People are very cooperative,helping and friendly in nature. Big city with all facilities. Minimum crime rate. Stay in posh area like Bodakdev, Setellite, Vastrpur, Thaltej, Memnagar, Navrangpura, Prahladnagar, South bopal etc. either hiring Two BHK flat or in PG with individual room. It will cost you @ Rs.15000 to 20000 per month with Electricity bill, washing of cloths. Food I am not adding because the test and type of food is individual choice.
