Why did you choose Aberystwyth, United Kingdom?

Because it's by the sea and the university seemed really nice.

How long was your stay? What is the amount of aid you received?

9 months, I received an Erasmus grant (2000e) and I was also lucky enough to be selected for the regional grant (900e) as well as the crous and apparently at the end of the year they give again

What is the student atmosphere like at Aberystwyth?

Amazing, the students and the staff (professors and administration staff alike) are really kind. The education is really good.

Would you recommend the town and the university of Aberyswyth to other students?

Yes, but you must not be scared of small towns, For me it is a little difficult because it didn't take long to see all the major attractions in the town, and the weather isn't always nice (a month of rain in November, but at the moment, in December the weather is ok)

What is the food like in this country?

Don't count on it!

Did you find it hard to find accommodation in Aberystwyth?

No.

What is the cost of living in Aberystwyth?

Not as expensive as I had thought, there is a Lidls that is really cheap (like in France) for food. For trips, you can also travel cheaply (Megabus £10) even if everything is far away... And the accommodation is distinctly cheaper in the town than at the university (which I advise against doing)

How is learning the language? Did you have language courses organised by the university?

We can take classes, but I didn't because in France I am in LEA, and here I was able to find super nice roommates who all came from different countries so we spoke nothing but English...

What is the cheapest way to get to Aberystwyth from your town?

I come from Montpellier, in view of my luggage I chose the company Air France (MPL- Paris Paris-Birmingham) and from Birmingham I took the train (3h40). Apparently at the beginning of the semester the uni can pick you up from Birmingham, but I don't know much about that

What places would recommend to party at Aberystwyth?

All of them!

What cultural visits would you recommend?

Move around as much as you can, even if the big cities are far away, they are worth it! Birmingham Christmas market, Cardiff...
