Impressive

My experience in this university has been really good. Apart from the city which is lovely, in general, Norwegian cities use to be very beautiful, peaceful, without traffic…

As for the university facilities, they are ok. Well, I study in the University of Murcia and I think it is very difficult to improve my faculty facilities. The faculty of engineering is old but great. The level of studies, in comparison with Spain, is lower; they do exams for passing almost everybody. And with 4 over 10 you pass. Teachers are…as in everywhere, I imagine. They prepare their slides, arrive to class and tell them to you. Of course, everything is over controlled, you know what they are going to explain the day after and they limit to that.

In general, the university is quite good, and if you do not find a subject with the classes in English, you can choose it in Norwegian, there is no problem, notes and books are in English and although the classes will be in Norwegian, every week there are two hours of “private” lessons in small groups in order to clear doubts and do exercises, and if you are foreigner, they speak in English, and of course, exams are in English.
In Norway almost everybody speak English, and quite good, unless people over 60, who understand but do not speak, especially men.

The disadvantage is the prices. Norway is the most expensive country of Europe and one of the most expensive in the world. You spend money easily in eating, going out… Food is very expensive, accommodation is very expensive…and going out with friends to take something to drink is prohibitive.

If you like the cold, you will have all the cold that you want. The snow period is very very long, about six months living with snow. Sometimes, snow cover up to one metre and temperatures may fall from -10 ºC to -20 ºC, but you get used, though the temperature use to fluctuate between -5 ºC and 0 ºC, the others are occasionally.

To be honest, I recommend to come here, it is a really good experience, and for someone like me, from a warm and almost desert city as Murcia, to arrive to Norway is a radical change that I liked so much.
