Why did you choose to go to Forlì, Italia?

I chose to study at the University of Bologna (Università di Bologna) and its economics faculty is in Forlì. Before going to this city I had received some recommendations on studying there. Therefore, it seemed to me as if Forlì is a great place, from where you can easily reach other cities of Italy. And another reason was that prices and the rent in Forlì are lower than in other big cities like Milan or Venice.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to meet the cost of living?

I got a scholarship (450 euros from my host university) for five months. I think it could have been almost enough, if I hadn't travelled. So, it more depends on what you are going to do - more or less just studying or travelling, going to parties, restaurants and so on...

What is the student lifestyle like in Forlì?

There is a student organization called Koiné in Forlì. They arrange some activities for students, such as meetings, watching films and students can also get some discounts in cafes, restaurants, museums with the Koiné student card. Besides, there are several pubs and clubs in Forlì, but some of them are closed in the summer. In addition, there is a great park where many students meet up for pick-nicks or soccer, play guitar or jog.

Would you recommend the city and the university to other students?

Forlì is a nice but quite small city. There are some activities for students, but, in general, I think Forlì is not the best place for students compared with other Italian cities. However, I recommend the university.

What is the food like?

Forlì is a quite small town, so the variety of food is small, but still you can find really good traditional Italian food for a low price.

Was it difficult to find an accommodation in Forlì?

No, I found it on the internet: easystanza.

How much does it cost to live in Forlì?

My friend and I lived in a private apartment. And together we paid 480 euros (240 euros each) with all the expenses included.

Is the language easy to come to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Many Italians don't speak English at all. So it is very useful to know Italian before arriving in Italy. On the other hand, Italians often use gestures that help to understand what they're talking about. The University offers some languages courses for students.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Forlì from your city?

I attended an Italian language course in Perugia (Italy) before going to Forlì, so I reached Forlì by train.
